New Hope 12

This is the new normal – –

to rise in peace

and listen to what God speaks to my heart

about my assignments for today.

Loving others from afar,

I sew face masks for my neighbors.

God is good to give me

the ability to reach out

while we remain apart.

Lord, help me to meet these challenges,

to dream of freer days

as I write, I sew,

I work in my garden

coaxing new life to grow

in my heart, my neighborhood,

my city, and my world.

New Hope 11

Our eyes are now open.

We see that life is fleeting.

Storm clouds may gather

while the sun continues to shine.

Let our lives reflect Your love, Lord.

Help us to leave a legacy

of peace and caring and hope.

Chains fall off when we realize

that the world was not

made by our own hands,

but God who controls the universe,

loves us, and understands our needs,

our hopes, our chaos

as life collides with our own plans.

Let us leave the future to You,

as we await freer days

to run, to gather together,

to clasp hands, to sing.

New Hope 10

There’s summer in the air.

The grass is turning green,

new buds form and pop open

as if following an unseen commander.

God has placed everything in His time,

the seasons, the ocean tides,

the stars in the night sky,

the rotation of the planets.

How, then, can we doubt His magnitude

or His love for us

that He gave us this beautiful world

in which we thrive?

Father, help me not forget Your deity

and continue to trust in Your wisdom

as I remain confined in my home,

still and quiet, and seeking You.

New Hope 9

Walking in peace, and strength, and hope,

I stand as if on a precipice

looking down into a valley of despair.

Let my eyes not linger

at what could be my reality,

but keep my feet steady

on the ground beneath me,

my eyes fixed on the here and now,

And my heart fixed on Thee.

For further consideration: Psalm 34:4-7

New Hope 8

God is here,

He has not left us

Nor turned His face from us,

He is the God who sees

our troubles, our fears, our needs.

Let us never fear that we are all alone

For God is near us, beside us,

And in our hearts

If we ask Him to give us strength

And His peace.

New Hope 7

Your blessings wash over us, Lord,

Of peace and sleep,

health, wholeness, and love.

Let us not despair,

But put our trust in Thee.

You will bring us songs in the night,

And hope as the morning sun

Awakens the world,

To healing, contentment, and joy.

New Hope 6

Thank You, Lord,

That in the spiritual world,

The battle has ended.

It was already over before it had begun.

God is in control of this world, of our lives

If we choose to follow Him

And give Him our hearts.

“Let not your souls be troubled, never be afraid,”

The scriptures resound with promises,

That our God has made.

We need to see with spiritual eyes

The war’s already won,

Claim our peace, trust in God,

and see the victory!

New Hope 5

I’m trusting in You, Lord,

I have no way to change the past,

No way to know what tomorrow till bring.

My days seem uncertain,

Quiet solitude fills my time,

But You, alone, will prevail.

Touch those who are ill, Lord,

Speak peace to your people,

When we need to trust ,

Please take away the doubts

That brighter days will follow

For Your love can shine through us,

Loving and encouraging us

as our minds are staid on You.

New Hope 4

The times of our lives seem so uncertain

And yet, as the sky after fleeting rain,

A patch of blue can be seen on the horizon.

We are like a village after a terrible storm.

We walk as if in a trance to discover

That we are still here,

Unharmed and stronger than before.

Let us wait for our redemption

When we can worship together once more,

Clasping hands in faith and praising God

For his redemptive work

Has seen us through.

New Hope 3

Oh, the beauty of the ashes

When we realize our hearts are new.

Painful things surround us,

But Your love is in us,

Holding, forgiving, ever true.

Let us help those who need us,

And not turn our faces from those in despair.

The lion roars and the earth is shaken,

And yet our God is ever more.

Let our hearts be light,

His truth surrounds us,

His joy fills our souls with glee.

A strange word, for so many have fallen,

But the Lord is ever in our midst.

Let us never feel forsaken

Let our courage rest in Thee,

You are God over these circumstances,

You alone know our destiny.
